primary school is located about 25 kilometers outside the city
of Kano. It caters to around 1000 children on a rotating shift
basis, some of the kids get to go to school at night. The
majority of classes have no proper windows, desks or
blackboard. In most of the classrooms, the blackboards are
painted on the walls. There are no books, pencils, pens and
the majority of the children's parents cannot afford to buy
their children any school supplies. One of our founders
(Ibrahim Akar) did his teacher's training there and that is
one of the reasons why the school is near and dear to our
hearts. |
