The
orphanage is called "Nassarawa Children's Home"
and is located just outside the old city of Kano in
the Government Residential Area (GRA). It caters to around 70
children at a time. Most of the kids we have seen are younger
than 10 but we have seen a couple of teenagers and they help
take care of the children. We do not have pictures of the accommodations
inside but we promise to have those posted after the 2000
trip.
There is a hospital located
across the street and sometimes if a kid is sick and they have
medical supplies on hand they do help out and we think that
deserves a mention and a thank you. The hospital's name is called Nassarawa
hospital and it is the place where two of our directors were
delivered into the world. |
Above: Two
children having a little fun together during our visit. We
think it was the candy we gave out and not us that caused all
the laughter.
